Screenwriting gurus often recommend script analysis as a way to learn the
craft of screenwriting. But few aspiring screenwriter's actually do the
difficult work of reading a screenplay and then watching the movie, bit by
bit, to analyze both the movie and screenplay for structure, dialog, and
character development.
But now, Women in Film/Atlanta and the Atlanta Screenwriter's Group, invite
you to participate in convenient script analysis. Come join your peers in a
friendly, low-key atmosphere, where you can gain greater insight into
screenwriting by actively charting the structure, and debating the workings,
of a screenplay. You will be amazed at how much you can learn.
Our first screening will be the Academy Award winning film, Chinatown, on
Feb. 23, starting at 6:30 p.m. We will stop the big screen digital projector
every fifteen minutes to identify inciting incidents, twists, basic
structure, and points where the film deviated from the written screenplay.
Participants are encouraged to read, print out, and bring a copy of the
script, available free online at:

Pack your dinner and a beverage, and join us at the Cinema Concepts private
screening room for an evening of ideas and inspiration. Map and directions:
